Electronic Check Acceptance (?) or ECA
A system for collecting and converting information off of paper checks into electronic data. ECA can be used to transmit information from a paper check through the ACH network. Checks are processed differently from paper checks through ECA, and the paper check is returned to the customer at the POS.
